I don’t want no scrubs…except these

Scrub (noun)
1. A guy that thinks he’s fly, and is also known as a buster.
2. My all-time favorite way to exfoliate your body.

As promised in last week’s email, today we are going to talk about the amazing body scrubs I have started using and carrying by Roses n Rosé. Anyone who knows me knows that I am obnoxiously picky when it comes to what products I’ll put on my skin, so you know it’s the good stuff if it’s made its way onto my homecare lineup! A few weeks ago I was contacted by another boss lady from a Facebook group that I’m a part of. She reached out seeing if I was interested in adding any body scrubs to my backbar for BLT Beauty services and, as fate would have it, I was right in the middle of my hunt for the perfect body scrub to add to my arsenal. Once she got me some samples to try out, it was all over. The scent alone is enough to make you say “Here, take all my money.” To top it off, they have the perfect consistency, leave your skin looking and feeling amazing, and short and sweet ingredient lists. Alright now let’s get into the nitty gritty (see what I did there?) of these scrubs.

body scrubThe Sunshine Scrub is a classic sugar scrub that will leave you feeling all kinds of smooth. Sugar scrubs have always been a favorite of mine since they are gentle yet extremely hard working forms of exfoliation. The granular texture does a nice physical exfoliation to slough off dead skin cell build up that you expect from any type of scrub. The bonus with sugar scrubs is that sugar is a natural source of glycolic acid, so you get a low dose of that to get an additional chemical exfoliation to really get you feeling baby smooth. Side note: chemical exfoliation does not mean there are weird chemicals in the product. This just means a chemical reaction between the glycolic acid in the sugar and your skin is causing cellular turnover. The Sunshine Scrub has coconut sugar, coconut oil, vitamin E oil, and pineapple to leave you glowing (and smelling) like you’re on a tropical vacation.

Rosie Cheeks Scrub is one of the most delicious things I’ve ever smelled. This baby is a coffee scrub with rosehip oil. Cue “These Are a Few of My Favorite Things” to start playing. Coffee scrubs are also pretty old school but have recently had a big resurgence, and hallelujah for that! I’m a loud and proud coffee addict, but that amazing fragrance isn’t the only reason I love using this scrub. As we all know, coffee is a great source of caffeine. This means that in addition to the grounds gently polishing your skin, the caffeine is helping to stimulate circulation and reduce cellulite. Rosehip oil is also bringing more than just an amazing fragrance to the table. It’s an amazing source of essential fatty acids which helps with skin cell regeneration and repairs. This means it’s going to help with scars, pigmentation and wrinkles. I know, you need this in your life ASAP.

body scrubNow beyond being an incredible line of products, Roses n Rosé is exactly the type of business I love getting to work with and support. This is another female-run small business based right here in San Diego! Women supporting women, shopping small, and shopping local all in one fell swoop. The owner, Chanté, is as sweet as her scrubs and is so dedicated to delivering the best possible product. Everything has been done so thoughtfully, from her perfectly crafted products to her ridiculously cute packaging, complete with labels printed on recycled paper! The icing on the cake is that proceeds from every scrub sold go to charity. Roses n Rosé teamed up with the Moxie Foundation to form Charity by Moxie. For every Sunshine Scrub sold, a portion of the proceeds go to brain cancer research, and for every Rosie Cheeks Scrub a portion goes to breast cancer research. I seriously can’t get enough of these products, the company, or their mission!

I cannot recommend these scrubs enough for spray tanning prep! Proper exfoliation before your airbrush tan helps to ensure that your tan develops evenly, gets a deep, rich color, and lasts as long as possible. I used the Rosie Cheeks before my last airbrush tan and I’m still rocking my glow 11 days later. Then tomorrow night I’ll use it again to get the rest of my tan off to get a clean canvas for my fresh tan for my trip to Lake Havasu this weekend! They are seriously flying off the shelf, and it’s no wonder with the quality and pricing so on point. Grab one at your next appointment or you can always order from their website. These scrubs have also been added to my backbar for use in my detoxifying back treatments to help keep you tank top ready all summer long. I love these so much that I’m even thinking about reintroducing dry room body scrubs as a treatment to offer, so please leave a comment or send me an email if this is something you babes would be interested in!

body srcubAs always, I love it when you leave comments, send emails or be a hipster and write a letter to let me know what you think and what you wanna know. I’m all ears!

Thanks lovie!
